Choosing a Present

Vicky was trying to find (1) what her mother would like as a birthday present. He mother had replied that she did not know, but she would think it (2) . When Vicky asked her the next evening she said that she had not decided but she would sleep (3) the problem and tell her in the morning.
She woke up the next day and told Vicky that she would like some cosmetics or some bath oil. Vicky asked her sister, Juliet, to go shopping with her. Juliet suggested that they put (4) the shopping until the next day. Then she suggested that they could do (5) with the need for a shopping trip completely because she had a friend who was an agent for a cosmetic firm. Her friend could bring a selection of products to their house and they could look (6) her stock in comfortable surroundings and find something their mother would like.
The two sisters whiled (7) a pleasant evening with Juliet’s friend, Zane. After they had tried (8) several products from Zane’s samples, they chose some body lotion and some bath oil for their mother. The products were quite expensive and Vicky suggested that their brother, Tom, could share the present and help to pay (9) it. Juliet was not sure that Tom would agree to this but he did and Vicky went off to buy some wrapping paper in which she wrapped (10) the present. Their mother was delighted.
